The Central and Western District was the first area of development when Hong Kong was opened up as a colony. It was then known as 'Victoria City' (also called 'Queen's Town') and divided into four circles: Sai Wan, Sheung Wan, Central, and Lower Wan (present-day Wan Chai and Causeway Bay). The original musical, 'Dream in the West', is set in this district and tells the story of two future in-laws who fall out over the wedding venue for their children's upcoming nuptials, each insisting on their own idea of a 'lucky place'. This disagreement sets off a series of incidents, some happy and some sad. Will the young lovers ultimately be united in marriage? And where will the 'lucky place' be, in the end?
The musical features students who have participated in this programme for over half a year, receiving training in music, dance, and drama, showcasing the fruits of their learning.
